Ireland on my mind this week. Sioux City Camera Club talk on travel. So I have been grinding this week trying to put together a presentation for the Sioux City Camera Club. First of all, let me just say that I have even more respect for the photographers that get up and do this than I did before... and it was a lot then. It's no easy task getting in front of photographers with (in some cases) more years experience photographing than I've been alive (x2). Literally, there are some photographers in this group that have been at it for over 70 years! I'm only 34 so... yeah. Ha! But... we all have something to offer so this week is my week to see what I can contribute to such an awesome and seasoned group of photographers. The topic that was chosen for me was to talk to the group about taking photos in Ireland. Sounds good, but how in the world do I talk about taking pictures in a country I've only been to once and won't be able to visit anytime soon?!? Everyone LOVES looking at other people's vacation photos right? It's always great having a platform to speak from and having the stage, but seriously... I don't want to put people to sleep just looking at my Ireland photos. I've decided to give my presentation on getting the most out of travel photography. I believe I've had more travel experience in recent years than the average person and can offer some sound advice on getting good travel photography. Since it was requested that I talk about Ireland, I'm going to still be presenting some of my photos from there, but will be discussing other places I've visit and in addition to talking about the shots I got, I will be discussing the mistakes I've made and how I would do it different if I could do it again. If you've ever thought about attending the Sioux City Camera Club and have an interest in this (or just checking out the club in general), feel free to come to the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of 6th and Nebraska in downtown Sioux City this Thursday at 7:30 PM. For now, here's one of the pictures I've dug out of the archives from Ireland. It's a photo of the Irish National Museum in Dublin. :) Enjoy!
Here's one more from Ireland. This is actually from the center of town in a small town called, "Monaghan". :)
